Wedding checklist: 6-7 months before
Around six months out, anything with a long lead time gets ordered: a made-to-order dress can take four to six months, and rentals and transport for a busy date go early. The ceremony itself starts taking shape now too.
The 8 tasks for 6-7 months before
Order custom wedding dress
Made-to-order dresses can take four to six months before alterations.
Schedule dress fittings
Book the fittings when you order, working back from the date.
Plan ceremony details
Order of service, readings, music, who walks in when.
Choose bridesmaids' dresses
Give the wedding party time to order and alter theirs.
Book wedding transportation
Book cars or shuttles now, using the research from last month.
Finalize catering & tasting
Choose the menu after the tasting, and confirm what's included.
Choose rental items
Tables, chairs, linens, tableware: anything the venue doesn't supply.
Book rehearsal dinner venue
Reserve a place for the rehearsal dinner the night before.
These are the tasks in the “6-7 months before” group of the free wedding checklist. Put in your wedding date there and each one gets its own due date, with anything already late marked overdue.
What should already be done
This stage leans on these. If one is still open, do it first.

And the rest of the earlier groups: 12+ months before, 10-11 months before, 8-9 months before. Anything left over can still be caught up.
