Terms of service

Last updated: 7 October 2026 (draft, pending legal review)

These Terms govern your use of Linenfold (the "Service") at linenfold.co, provided by [Contextual Labs Ltd. — confirm legal entity], [address], Alberta, Canada ("Linenfold", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live). You're responsible for your account, for keeping your login secure, and for activity under it. Give us accurate information and keep it updated.

2. Workspaces and collaborators

A wedding workspace belongs to the account holder who created it (the "owner"). The owner can invite collaborators and set their roles. Collaborators can view or edit according to their role. The owner can remove collaborators at any time. If a workspace is purchased on Complete, the plan attaches to that wedding, not to an individual collaborator.

3. Free tools and the free plan

Our free tools and free plan are provided at no charge, with the limits described on our pricing page. We may change free-plan features and limits, but we won't delete content you've already created because of a limit change; limits restrict adding new items, not viewing, editing or exporting existing ones.

4. Paid plans, pricing and refunds

  • Complete is a one-time purchase for one wedding. It gives access to Complete features for that wedding until 12 months after the wedding date set in the workspace, after which the workspace becomes read-only and remains exportable. You may buy an extension.
  • Purchases are processed by our reseller, Paddle.com, which is the merchant of record for orders and handles payment, invoicing and sales tax. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the purchase transaction.
  • Prices are shown before purchase and may include or add applicable taxes. Promotional prices (such as founding or limited-time offers) apply only while offered.
  • Refunds: you may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase by contacting hello@linenfold.co or Paddle. After a refund, the workspace returns to the free plan.
  • Couples' plans never auto-renew. If we offer subscriptions (for example to professional planners), their billing and cancellation terms will be shown at purchase.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you put into Linenfold ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited licence to host, store, process, display and transmit Your Content only to provide and improve the Service for you (for example syncing it between collaborators, generating PDFs and showing share pages you create). We don't sell Your Content or use it for advertising.

You're responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to enter it, including other people's personal information (such as guests and vendors). Use other people's information only for planning your event, and respect their privacy.

6. Sharing

Share links (vendor pages, day-of links, profile links, the guest address form) can be viewed by anyone who has the link. You control what each link shows and can revoke it at any time. Don't share links publicly if you don't want the content seen.

7. Acceptable use

Don't: break the law or infringe others' rights; upload malware or attempt to access accounts, data or systems you're not authorised to access; scrape, overload or reverse-engineer the Service beyond what law permits; use the guest address form or share pages to spam, phish or collect information under false pretences; resell the Service without our written permission; or use the Service to harass anyone. We may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Our service and changes

We work to keep Linenfold available and your data safe, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may add, change or remove features. If we discontinue the Service, we'll give at least 60 days' notice and a way to export your data, and we'll refund unused Complete purchases on a pro-rated basis where the wedding date hasn't passed.

9. Planning tools aren't professional advice

Linenfold helps you organise. Budgets, cost estimates, tip suggestions, checklists, seating and capacity calculations are guidance based on what you enter; check important details (such as venue capacity, contracts, legal marriage requirements and vendor terms) directly with the relevant people and authorities. We're not a party to any agreement between you and your vendors, venues or guests.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, templates and branding, belongs to us and our licensors. These Terms don't give you rights to our trademarks. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculations will be free of errors resulting from data you enter.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Linenfold won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or event-related costs, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) CA$100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law, including consumer protection law where you live.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from Your Content or your breach of these Terms or of others' rights, except to the extent caused by our own fault.

14. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms, with notice where reasonable. On termination we'll delete your content as described in the Privacy Policy; please export anything you want to keep first.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Courts in Calgary, Alberta have jurisdiction, unless the consumer protection law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts. Before filing a claim, please contact us at hello@linenfold.co so we can try to resolve it informally.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We'll post the new version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify account holders before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
