Wedding checklist: 1 week before
The last week is for finishing, not starting. Settle the seating chart with the final replies, hand the playlist to the DJ, and pack the bag you'll carry on the day. Leave an evening free to write to each other.
The 8 tasks for 1 week before
Final RSVP & seating chart
Make the seating chart final with the last replies.
Prepare final playlist
Send the final song list and announcements to the DJ or band.
Steam/press wedding attire
Have the attire steamed or pressed and hung where it won't crease.
Reconfirm beauty appointments
Confirm the time and place with hair and makeup.
Get manicure/pedicure
Book these a day or two before.
Pack wedding day bag
Pack what you'll need on the day: the license, rings, vows, the emergency kit.
Assemble favors & welcome bags
Put the favors and welcome bags together, and arrange who delivers them.
Write letters/gifts for each other
Write a letter, or wrap a small gift, for each other to open on the morning.
These are the tasks in the “1 week before” group of the free wedding checklist. Put in your wedding date there and each one gets its own due date, with anything already late marked overdue.

Questions
- What should I do 1 week before the wedding?
- The checklist has 8 tasks for this stage: final RSVP & seating chart, prepare final playlist, steam/press wedding attire, reconfirm beauty appointments, get manicure/pedicure, pack wedding day bag, assemble favors & welcome bags and write letters/gifts for each other.
- What should already be done by the last week?
- The tasks this stage depends on: book hair/makeup trials, create song list, plan wedding favors, create seating chart draft, finalize guest count and final dress fitting. Anything else left from earlier groups can still be caught up.
- When should the seating chart be final?
- About a week out, once the last RSVPs are in, so the caterer, venue and escort cards all work from the same list. Expect a change or two after that and keep a printed copy for the venue.
